Covers: February...something-th

Not sure what got me sauntering the internet these past couple days looking for covers. Probably a combination of nothing to do, procrastination, and not enough money for cigarettes and a 6 pack of gas station water or a pitcher of Up & Up. Ideally the means justify the ends.

Ugh...this song...I know right? God I suck.
And Then There Were None - Hide and Seek (Imogen Heap Cover)

A Sunny Day In Glasgow-Hybrid Moments (Misfits Cover)
I wouldnt normally advocate for listening to a cover of a Misfits song (or anything they did past the album Static Age) but this really appealed to me. I think I might be compromising my pretentiousness in my old age...or maybe not.

Entire Cities -I Feel It All (Feist cover)
The quality is kind of shit, but thats half the fun when a band does their version of someone else's work (sometimes). Its really cool that they did it as a duet, a guy girl one no less. When it picks up and you the voices down out except for the occasional female "woooooo" my heart grows three sizes.

The Antlers - VCR (CC cover)
I LOVE this band, their last album was amazing and inventive, unique and unparalleled in its emotional intensity and narrative. This is good too

So is this
The Antlers - Apple Orchard (Beach House cover)
The apple landed REAAAAAAL far from the tree on this one, they've traded nearly everything about the original for a darker cloudier take on the track. Their ambiguity is hard as fuck.

and last for today
GoldSpot - Float on (Modest Mouse cover)
This is a few years old, but I found it digging through some folders from my last HD while I was trying to organize my music. I shouldnt have to tell you that not only did I stop organizing/doing anything productive and rocked my socks off. You should too.

Good day, friends. Until next time.
